Located in Al Warsan, just 12 kilometers from Dubai International Airport, International City is a major new complex that is destined to be a world-class hub for international investors, traders and retailers from around the world.

A themed environment of residences, business opportunity and tourist attractions, infrastructure construction is already underway, with the first phase expected to be completed and operational by mid 2004 with total completion towards the end of 2006. International City covers 800-hectares of land and will comprise six key areas, Central District and Forbidden City, Dubai Design Center, Dragon Mart, Residential District, and Lakes District.

The Residential District is set in 300 hectares and features themed neighbourhoods with unique architectural styles of Italy, Spain, Morocco, Persia, Greece, China, Indonesia, England, Russia, Thailand and France. The Residential District will be home to more than 60,000 residents.

The Dragon Mart is spread across 50 hectares, 1.4 kilometers long. Home to more than 3,000 Oriental companies managed by Chinamex, it is broken down into 20 commercial areas, 13 service areas, one office area and one business center. It is a 2-storey structure 18 meters in height, 220 in length and 210 in width.

Forbidden City is a replica of the biggest ancient building in China with an area of 24,000 sq.m. This tourist attraction will accommodate residential and retail outlets among gardens, museums and performance courts.
